WEL… we’re here to help you succeed!”

WEL Group had its beginnings in 1995 when we purchased our first income property.  From 1995 to 2000 we saw asset growth of over 300% and added Property management to our skill set. 1998 saw our first consulting contract in the automotive manufacturing business. In 1999, we started development on our first WEL Innovations product, the Pneumatic Air Management (PAM) medical oxygen device.  The PAM device went through years of testing and resulted in a Patent in 2005; which launched our Intellectual Property division.

At the same time we were working in the locomotive manufacturing industry, in addition to helping to set up a software launch to control measuring devices in a metrology lab and develop a discrepant material control program for international material management. In 2002, we started building our Logistics division with work in supply chain management and transportation. In 2002 we also created a supplier development program that included capacity analysis for small to medium businesses and executed these analyses internationally. 2006 brought on a large material management activity in the aerospace and defence sector to source and deliver over 1400 items (worth over $250M); which were designed and manufactured in South Africa, to the North American market.

In 2007, the PAM device saw a redesign into the PAM SCUBA and SCBA device for use in the scuba diving and firefighting markets. We also did extensive work with machine shops and engine suppliers across Canada and the US until 2010.

In 2011 we launched one of the largest vehicle upgrade programs in US Army history which involved kitting the parts for the upgrade in South Africa, shipping the vehicle upgrade kits to various forward operating bases around the world and upgrading the vehicles in South Africa, the Middle East, the United States and Canada. This was followed in 2014 with work in Integrated Logistics Services, again with the United States Government.

2014 brought us into the retail and franchising business with the ownership of a retail store grossing over $0.5M in sales in the first year of ownership.

In 2018, we saw a need to completely re-design the PAM SCUBA device for ease of manufacturability using Lean Six Sigma, value stream mapping and Earned Value Management.

Our healthcare division has been working in the emergency medicine field since 1995. This division includes expertise in sexual assault and domestic violence care from 1995 to 2005, in addition to stints in palliative care from 2011-2013, homecare nursing in 2015, and in the medical education field since 2016. In 2019, our Healthcare division partnered with Nurses on Board to offer healthcare navigation services for those struggling with complex conditions or to navigate the Canadian healthcare system.

And finally, in early 2020, the principles of the various divisions got together and formed the WEL Group of Companies.
